Farm Tours

We all went on some farm tours last weekend. We got to see a dairy farm, a cheese making farm, and a vegetable farm. The girls loved the dairy farm the most and the cheese farm the least. They held their noses during the entire cheese farm tour. The vegetable farm let them dig for potatoes and pick carrots.
Kelsey's favorite was the horses. Kaitlyn loved all of the animals!

These calves were only a few days old! They got to see one that was only 1 day old! It was bigger than Kaitlyn!

Kaitlyn loved this farm "It licked me!!!"

Pep Rally

The girls and I went to the high school football game as part of her elem. school pep rally. It was a really fun night and we stayed out until the band performed at half time.
Kelsey was glad to see a few of her new Kindergarten friends at the Pep Rally. Here she is showing off her hula hoop skills with her new friend, Bradley.

Kelsey has been in daycare with Lydia since she was 6 months old. Kaitlyn has been with Ty (Lydia's brother too!). Kaitlyn and Kelsey were happy to see their friends and get ready to run onto the field. (Kaitlyn chickened out at the last minute and ran back to me to just watch.)

John Deere!

Bob has wheels for his yard work now! He got a great new John Deere tractor! My dad helped out with picking the right one and providing delivery right to our driveway! The girls want to ride along and I think Bob is planning to do the cutting while they're at school so they stay out of his way. He's got a cup holder, snack container and something that looks like a magazine rack...seriously! Maybe I'll start cutting the grass?

Owls and then later I'll get to the cows...

The girls thought these were the prettiest of all of the owls. They sort of looked furry and reminded me of a persian cat. The girls were most interested in the dead mice and dead baby chicks in the owl pens for the owls to eat. Eww
Kate the Great Horned Owl

Kelsey as the Great Horned Owl. Most kids are interested in looking at the snakes, owls, turtles, fish, and other creatures, my kids found dress up stuff and liked that. They are girls.

End of Summer Pics!

We all smiled at the same time...lucky! We haven't done a family pic since I was pregnant with Kaitlyn, so we (I) decided it would be fun to get one done. It literally took less than 15 minutes to get in and out of the picture place. I'm going to try and talk them all into it again in about 2 years. Kelsey will likely have some missing teeth and Kaitlyn will be in Kindergarten by then...already picturing how cute that's going to be...
The girls did really well in a beach background shot. They really liked the girls taking their pictures and gave them lots of great smiles.

Kindergarten!

"Bye!" She's going to Kindergarten!
Slight mis-hap with the bussing situation...the letter stated that the bus arrived at our corner at 8:17 but the bus drove past our house at 8:05! Bob ran out and waved down the driver and he said he'd pick Kelsey up when he drove back up the hill. So, she got to ride the bus and she didn't even realize that she missed it. The driver said "Oh yeah, I'm always 10 minutes early"- this would have been good to know! It's actually pretty nice that he's so friendly. He picks a lot of the kids up right at their driveway and that's going to be nice this winter! Anyway, she got on smiling and happy!

Kelsey was very excited and happy to get ready for Kindergarten. She got a new dress the week of Kindergarten when I realized that it was going to be 90 degrees that day! We had another outfit planned but she liked this better for a hot day. She said that she didn't want to be all sweaty at school! She had a big breakfast, got her backpack ready and let us take some pictures. She was thrilled to take her lunch and picked a peanut butter cup as a special treat for her lunch.

New Dance Outfits!

Dancing Queens
Kelsey has plenty of ballet leotards, but she had to have "booty" shorts for her new Acro class. She is taking Ballet/Tap1 and Acro this year on Monday nights. She LOVES her new shorts and wore them all night! She was excited because Miss Danielle, her new Acro teacher, helped us pick them out while we were at the Dance Shop.

Kaitlyn is going to take PreBallet and Tap Class on Monday nights. She picked out this lillac leotard with sequin sleeves and matching skirt with shiny sequins. Isn't she lovely? She's very excited that she is going to have Miss Sharon as her teacher.

1st Haircut for Kaitlyn!

She was happy to still have enough hair for pig tails. She's our blonde bombshell!
There goes the baby hair!

Kaitlyn's hair is getting very long and so it was time for a haircut! Miss An cut off about 2-3 inches from the center of Kaitlyn's baby hair. She is a big girl now with a beautiful haircut. She was a little nervous once we got to the shop and made Kelsey go first to watch and see how it was going to work.
