Curve Game!

Everybody loves Curve baseball!  The girls had fun watching a little bit of the game and then running the bases afterward!

T-ball Time!

 Kelsey and Kaitlyn played t-ball this summer at the YMCA.  They were both on the same team this year.  Kelsey enjoyed it and wants to try softball next year. Kaitlyn tolerated it and wants to sleep in next year!

Three Ponds

 

We went for a visit to Cheryl and Tim's Cabin and Ponds this week.  We all enjoyed the cabin, ponds, toads and fish!  Kaitlyn and Lilly tried to catch butterflies and toads.  

The fishing was pretty exciting!  Everytime we put the line in we had success!  The girls may never want to fish again.  They won't know how to wait for a fish to bite!

We caugh blue gills and bass in the big pond.  Nate was even part of the day.  He enjoyed a run and a little dip in the pond.  

It was a great day and a beautiful place to spend the day!

Trough Creek Hike!

We went to Trough Creek for a short hike on Saturday.  The weather was unusually cool and it was a good day to walk around outside.  We walked over the suspended bridge, past the rainbow falls and up to the balanced rock!  The girls were so excited to see the rock - yelling: "I see the rock!" and running for it!  

Slip-N-Slide Day!

Kelsey and Kaitlyn both wrote "slip-n-slide" on their list of things to do this summer.  So, we got out the slip-n-slide this week and had a good time running around outside.  

Beautiful Day at the Lake!

We had another beautiful day at the lake this week.  I'm not sure what the girls like more - the lake or the chinese buffet that we go to afterward.  On this day, Kelsey and Kaitlyn sat at a table with Cody, Sarah, David and Ryan!  The kid table!  Those waitresses are awesome!

Patio Chair Makeover

 I have been wanting to replace these old patio chair cushions for a long time but they are such a weird shape that I couldn't find anything to work!  So, Angie let me borrow her sewing machine and I recovered the cushions myself - with some help from the girls!  These are the "before" pictures.

 Kelsey and Kaitlyn were really excited to help out.  They cut out the foam to add some extra cushion to the cushions!  Then I sewed the fabric.  They were really good helpers!  They want to learn to use the sewing machine but I'm going to hold off on that for a few years.  I think we'll try to make some things for their dolls in the next few weeks. 

 The cushions turned out pretty well.  They are much more comfortable with the added padding and I really like the green backs up next to the black furniture. 

American Girl Movie Night

 We had fun on American Girl Movie Night.  The newest doll is McKenna and her movie premiered on Saturday night.  She's a gymnast.  We made funfetti cookies for a treat.  The girls had popcorn, milkshakes and crescent roll sandwiches for the big event!   Then we got to work on our homemade gymnastic mats for our dolls.

 Kelsey picked a green mat with a paint splatter tape to connect the mats.  Kaitlyn chose pink zebra print and we covered her pink mats completely!  She made a smaller mat but it was pretty cute!

We Won!

 We went for a movie night at David and Ryan's pool this week and won a summer pass for our family!  The girls love that this pool has 2 diving boards.  They love jumping in! We're going to make it up to the pool a few more times this summer - since we're members now! :)

Garden Girl!

 Our Garden is doing really well this year!  We planted broccoli and zuchinni for the first time.  Kelsey loves to eat the broccoli dipped in cheese.  I made zuchinni bread and next I'm going to try zuchinni chicken casserole!  We had to pull the zuchinni plant this week because it was taking over the cucumber and pepper plants!  Next year, we'll know to give more room for this one!

Tree Swing!

 Kelsey and Kaitlyn helped their Pappy Dave put together a tree swing on Sunday.  They helped him lay out the rope and get everything ready and he didn't tell them what they were making until the end.  Pappy likes to keep them guessing.  They loved it and had a great time swinging,  Nana gave them the wildest rides and almost took down a branch on the tree!  Did I mention that I asked for tire swing 28 years ago when we moved to this house?  I think the tree is finally ready.

Bellwood Pool and Park!

 The girls had a fun day at Bellwood Pool this week.  They like the two slides and the playground.  They really impressed me on the monkey bars!
