Shopping and sightseeing!

We went for a shopping trip to the outlets and a tour of the Hershey Chocolate factory.  The girls enjoyed the store more than the tour!  They loved these giant candy bars!  Luckily, I talked them into buying a few that were more their size.  Great day for shopping all around!

School Skating Party

We went to the Ice Skating Party for school today.  The girls did a great job skating.  Kaitlyn tried to speech up everytime she saw a friend of hers skating fast.  Kelsey spent a lot of time skating with friends and socializing!  Such big girls!

St. Patrick's Day Playdate

The speech girls and kids got together for a playdate.  We made Easter grass crafts and then the kids all got to play and run around.

They had a St. Patrick's day playdate 4 years ago too.  So grown up!

Ice Skating

We took the girls ice skating to see how they would do for the school ice skating party next week!  I am taking them by myself and I was wondering how I would manage with two of them!  Luckily, Kelsey remembered a lot from last year and Kaitlyn was the only one who needed a hand to hold.

Enough Snow!

March and it is still snowing! We have had so much snow this year!  We had a heavy snowstorm and enjoyed a day in the snow, again!

Wacky Hair Day!

Kelsey wanted to be really wacky for wacky hair day!  We did a Suzy Who doo using part of a toilet paper roll o hold up the wacky ponytail!  She said she was one of the wackiest students at school.  Kaitlyn started crying when I suggested doing the same thing with her hair.  She said that everyone would laugh at her!  I think that was what Kelsey wanted!  It all worked out and Kaitlyn decided to just go for some color in her hair!

Sleepover with cousins!

We had the boys over for a sleepover this month and went swimming to the YMCA!  David, Kelsey and Kaitlyn took the test to swim in the pool without an adult.  Ryan was so nervous about taking a test and I let him know he didn't need to do it!  I got in the pool but then Ryan did everything he needed to do to pass the test!  He's such a good swimmer - just didn't like the pressure of the test!
Kaitlyn and Ryan played baby dolls and pretend house while Kelsey and David played Mario on the Wii.

We all got together to make cake balls in the easy bake oven and chocolate covered strawberries!

They all slept in tents in the basement!  They were asleep by 11:00.  They were so excited to be together that there were no complaints about the princess tents being so girly!

Junie B. Jones at the Mishler

Junie B. Jones is a favorite book series of Kelsey and Kaitlyn.  She's funny and silly.  We went to see the musical show at the Mishler and it was a combination of some of our favorite stories.  When we got home, Kaitlyn asked to start reading the books!  :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I got to go to Kaitlyn's Kindergarten Valentine's Day Party!  I was in charge of games and we played two group games while the other parents made the pancake breakfast for everyone! Kaitlyn enjoyed the games and got some extra attention during the play!  She love the reddi whip topping for her pancakes with strawberries.  She sits at a table with all boys!  I think that works very well for her!

Her very good friend sits right behind her!  Gigi walked her to the nurse when Kaitlyn broke her arm.  Kaitlyn is always talking about Gigi.
Kaitlyn and Ty have been friends since Kaitlyn was 7 months old!  They started out in the baby room and have been together for the toddler years, preschool, and now kindergarten!  What a cutie!

February Snowy Weekend

We used the snow blocks from Kaitlyn's birthday party to make an igloo.  The girls wanted me to build a roof but we ended up putting a sled on top.  They played house and pretended to sleep in the igloo.  This has been such a snowy, fun winter!  Also, my legs were in pain for three days after bending down, packing snow, building the igloo, and doing it again, and again, and again.  The girls supervised and it took many, many blocks to get just the right spot for the igloo.  We lost a lot of good blocks in the building process! Good exercise!

Homework

Now that we are more than halfway through the school year both the girls are starting to have homework.  It's so nice to be home in time to get them off the bus and get them started on their homework right away!  They are smiling for the camera but this isn't always a smiling time!  They work so hard!  Every week, they have dance and piano in the evening and they get all of their school work done too!  Such hard working girls!

Surgery Day

Kelsey had her adenoids taken out and tubes placed in both of her ears today.  She was a little nervous but she did very well!  It took less than 15 minutes once she was back with the doctor. It's the waiting and the recovery that are nerve wracking!  Luckily, she was acting like her regular self by the end of the day!  She only took three days off school.  When she went back to school, she passed her hearing screening with flying colors!

Kaitlyn's "sleepover"

Kelsey was invited to her first sleepover.  Kaitlyn desperately wanted to have a sleepover too!  I just wasn't quite ready for that...so we had a pretend sleepover and she had a very good friend come over until late 10:00 and we even wore pajamas and watched a movie in sleeping bags!  This helped keep me busy while I wondered how Kelsey was doing!  Kaitlyn woke up in the middle of the night yelling Kelsey's name...I think she was a little worried about her sister!  It all worked out and Kelsey and Kaitlyn had a great night!

Birhday continued.....

Kaitlyn was happy to take cupcakes to school to share with her friends.  She wore this special crown home on the bus!  She was very proud to be six!
We had dinner a Chuck E. Cheese and played games to celebrate...again!

Cake and Scavenger Hunt Time!

Kaitlyn wanted her cake to be a surprise - it had to be chocolate but it could have anything on it!  She said she wanted me to pick it out!  So, she got a double layer cake with ribbons and dots.  Bright colors and fun!  She ate the biggest piece of cake and headed out on a scavenger hunt!
The scavenger hunt started with these crazy glasses appearing in the family room!  I think they should do a good job LOOKING for clues with these glasses!
The clues took them all over the house.  Glad I had some extra help with set up from Aunt Kirstin!  They were up and down and out and in!
The final clue led them to the pinata!  YAY!

Present Time!

Happy 6th Birthday to Kaitlyn!
