Trip to the River!

We had a fun day playing at the river, cooking marshmallows, riding in kayaks and playing with creatures thanks to Madeline, Alina and Nicholas' Pappy Po and Gi. They invited us to their cabin by the river for a day of fun.
The girls loved the kayak ride!

Kaitlyn touched all of the little critters from the river net! Kelsey was very brave and walked right in the water!

Pure Excitement! They loved the fish and the whole day of fun!

Steeler Camp!

"He was sweaty!" - Kelsey's comment about Ben!
"Big Ben!" Kaitlyn kept yelling his name until he grabbed her poster and signed it! YAY!

Ben signed autographs for about 45 minutes after the practice ended.

Obstacle Course Complete! YAY Kaitlyn!

Kaitlyn completed the Steeler Experience Obstacle course 3 times! Kelsey meade friends with the credit card company tent people and sat in the shade of their sales booth.
You Go Girl!

tattoos!

Big sister helping out! This bounce house was a little challenging! They had to run/bounce to the back of the bouncer to make a "touchdown"

Carnival Party!

We all had a great time at my friend Carla's Carnival Party! Harry and Sydney got everyone in the pool and in on the carnival games!
Face Painting by Sydney and Harry's cousin. Kelsey asked for a heart. Kaitlyn asked for a cow. Yes, a cow. For some reason, Kaitlyn wanted a cow painted on her face. After a short discussion, she got a butterfly.

The girls always love Carla's pinatas. She has the best pinata stuff! They had pop rocks for the first time...pop pop sizzle pop.

A sack race! Kelsey gave this a try 3 times. She kept walking in her sack and couldn't understand when I told her to jump in the sack. She dragged her sack across the yard! She did win a medal for being the only person in the egg race who followed directions and didn't cheat! Kaitlyn won a medal for jumping the best on the trampoline.

Getting Comfortable in the Water

HA! I found you! Kelsey tries to hide in the tunnels now. She thought she had lost me, then I popped up behind her to catch her! Surprise!
At the beginning of the summer, the girls walk through the water, apprehensive, concerned about the drop of the bucket. By July and August, they are in the water. Comfortable and happy!

Idlewild Park!

Kelsey looked like she took this car ride relaxed and layed back. She got in, reclined back and enjoyed the ride.
Kaitlyn was out by 6:00 or so. She had a great day on the rides and swimming in the pool.

This was the water play area near the big pool. The girls liked this for a few slides but then went back to the big pool to swim. They loved that the big pool had a huge section that was only 2.5 to 3 feet deep. Bob and I got to go ride some slides too!

Idlewild train ride! We went past Mr. Rodgers and over a bridge. The girls always love the train!

Kelsey really liked the zip line for kids! She liked the whole climbing area and stayed in that area instead of riding the log ride with me, Bob and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn started the day off with a lot of energy and fell apart once she hit her stroller in the evening.

Story Book Forest had a lot of nursery rhyme place and people. The girls met Mother Goose, The little old lady who lived in a shoe and little red riding hood's grandmother. They liked walking around this area of the park.

Zoo and Haffbrauhaus!

Oops the beers were already gone before I took the picture. The Hafbrauhaus is a repilica of the one in Munich and Pittsburgh is lucky to have one of only 3 in the country!
Taking a ride at the zoo. The girls rode the carousel, log ride, jeep ride and played on these little cars at the zoo.

Kaitlyn reached right out to touch the lizard and then the gecko. Kelsey liked it too but took her time and let Kaitlyn check them out first.

Cooling off. The girls enjoyed misting and getting misted to cool off during our trip to the zoo.

This slide was a hit with the girls. Kaitlyn started going down on her belly and Kelsey couldn't let her baby sister do it and not give it a try herself. They were monkeys at the zoo!

Overnight Visit!

They thought it was hilarious to do the slip-n-slide backwards. They are all clowns.

They all loved sliding down the slide into the pool. They pretended it was a water slide at the park and even pretended to measure each other to see if they were tall enough to ride!

They all got a different flavor and then shared sushies. Kind of gross?

David and Ryan came to stay overnight this month. They had fun making their own pizzas in any shape they wanted and then going to slinky action zone to play. They all helped each other do the mini zip line at slinky and laughed all night long.

We Are...Penn State!

We went up to Penn State to shop for patio furniture and go out to dinner. We stopped by to see the Nittany Lion and get some pics!

Spaghetti Wednesday!

The girls ate their whole plate of spaghetti at the Spaghetti Wednesday at the Park. Hope we get to do this again this summer!

Fun at Home

Kaitlyn loves to eat freeze pops.
Here's Kelsey hanging out in the princess pool.

We really enjoyed the heat wave this summer. The girls loved setting up the slip-n-slide and blow up pool in the backyard.
