Pep Rally and Sleep Over!

 Kaitlyn and Ty are still together in Kindergarten!  Having fun, cheering on the Golden Tigers!

 Kelsey and Kaitlyn's friend, Riley, joined us for the pep rally and football game before a sleep over!Here are the girls with some friends from last year!  Sophia and Ava are sisters too!  Ava is in Kindergarten and Sophia is in 2nd grade too!

First Tooth!

 Kaitlyn lost her first tooth this week at school.  It was just a tiny bit wiggly.  When she came home from school, she came running from the bus stop to show me!  She pulled it out while her class was in line to go home.  After a quick trip to the nurse, she had a treasure box and a great story.

We Are....

 Kirstin and Paul got us tickets and parking for the PSU vs. Temple Game this year!  We had a great day tailgating and taking in the Nittany Lions!

 We took a walk after halftime and found Nana and Pappy Dave!  They sit behind a guy who throws candy at everyone - so we liked visiting them!

Tolerating Soccer and Playing Soccer...

Kaitlyn is tolerating soccer this year.  She is standing/slouching/sitting in her assigned area and glaring at me on a regular basis.  She wants the ball, the clothes, the accessory bag and equipment.  She enjoyed picture day.  She has been seen running and even kicked the ball 4 times during one 45 minute game, but then she realized that she was having fun and it all stopped.  She ran pretty fast dribbling the ball the other night but then tragedy struck and she tripped = the end of that night.  

Kelsey is making a real effort.  She has even practiced at home.  She has a great coach who is very enthusiastic and positive!  She's making friends on her team and having fun!

 Welcomed to the bus stop! 

The bus ride was the only part that she said was scary!  She said it was just scary at first and now she loves it.  She mades friends on the bus and at school!  Her teacher called the first week to say how quiet and well behaved Kaitlyn was in class - I was sure to check that she was talking about Kaitlyn Lenhart and sure enough it was my crazy, blonde ball of energy that is quiet and well behaved at school!  I'll take the crazy girl at home if she's going to be good at school!

2nd Grade!

 Kelsey started 2nd grade this August!  She started 2 days before Kaitlyn. (Kindergarten starts late).  This was a problem.  She did not want to go.  She did not get the teacher that she wanted.  She did not have any friends from last year in her class.  She did not sleep the night before.  She did not eat that morning.  She almost did not get on the bus.  It was not a good morning....

 Reluctantly, she moped over to the bus and did not even look up to wave at me.  But, she loved her teacher, made new friends, and 2nd grade is going to be awesome! 

Last pool trip for the summer.

 Getting Brave!

 We took our last trip to the pool for the summer.  The girls like this pool because of the slides and the diving board.  We spent a few hours swimming and then headed home for pizza!  Good-bye to summer fun.

Bapism and Sight Seeing.

 Avalene was baptized on Sunday.  Michelle and Bob stood as Godparents.  She didn't cry at all and fell asleep by the end! 

 We spent the rest of the day sightseeing - the bean and water play!

American Girl and a Walk to the Park

 We were all excited to check out American Girl while we were in Chicago!

 Lunch with our bittys.  This was much more fun than our last lunch - 3 years ago! The girls talked to their dolls, played pretend and really enjoyed the attention from our waittress.  Very Cute!

 So happy with their purchases!  They got new movies to watch and accessories to take home!

 Divas on Michigan Avenue.

 The girls loved the Apple store as much as the American Girl store!  They explored and played on the iPods, iPads, and computers.  So easy to use! 

 

 We took a walk to an elementary school close to Karen and Philip's house and played at the playground. Max even joined in on the fun!



Science Museum and Dinner out at Maggiano's

On Friday, we spent some time at the Museum of Science and Industry.  The girls liked seeing a movie about monkeys and elephants.  They liked the storm/tornado area and the rock wall.  

 

 Here they are with the Mars rover!  We actually went to Mars this summer and had a chance to see a replica of the rover.
